Blog Week Two!
This week, we'll be making one drawing based on ideas in fiction.
To do: first, you will read books and watch television and movies. In your sketchbook, make notes of any quotes and visual descriptions that feel like they could become an interesting drawing.
Remember, art can be fun, and ideas can come from anywhere.
Both of these works pictured above are based on scenes from David Foster Wallace's novel, Infinite Jest. I have gotten ideas from Jesse Andrews's Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Fredrik Backman's My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry, Everything Must Go, and even Gilmore Girls. No book, movie, or television is off the table for inspiration --just be sure you adapt the imagery and make it your own. This can be done by adding or subtracting details, modifying imagery, or by adding scenes and ideas from multiple sources to create an entirely new narrative. J
Read, watch, and draw from notes!
